Greetings!

I'm Margin, and I'm a mathematics tutor!  (And a bunch of other things too -- I'm a person of many interests.)  I live in Newtown, PA.  You can learn more about me by clicking on "About Margin" in the menu on the top of this site (if you are on a mobile device, click the three horizontal bars to access the navigation menu).

My Mission

I believe that a strong mathematics education has much to offer for students of a wide range of interests and academic strengths.  Working with students in all grade levels, I strive to:

• Strengthen students’ problem-solving skills and metacognitive habits so they are better prepared for challenges within their mathematical studies and in life in general.

• Support students in achieving their own academic and career goals, such as by improving their grades and test scores and preparing them for special academic or enrichment programs.

• Foster a deeper appreciation for mathematics as a subject that is both widely practical and wildly playful.

What I Offer

I provide in-person and virtual private tutoring in all the mathematics subjects that are standard to middle and high schools and also am prepared to support students taking some less standard courses, such as those that focus on problem-solving and/or proof-writing.  In addition, based on student interest, I offer group workshops in topics such as math study skills, test-taking strategies, SAT prep, and mathematical topics not seen in standard school curricula (examples: combinatorics, connections between mathematics and arts).  More info on my services can be found by clicking on "Services" in the navigation menu.
